2000-2005 Impala (8th Gen) Brake Lamp Failure (Hazard Switch Replacement)

This time out, our aging 04 Impala (a.k.a. Fred) is back in the garage to diagnose and repair another round of "no brake light-itis." Approx. 1 year ago, there was an issue with the outer brake lights not illuminating, which I determined to be a faulty turn signal switch. Video here:    • 2000-2005 Impala (8th Gen) Brake Lamp Fail...   This time around, I suspect the hazard warning switch as being the culprit. Reason being is whenever you switch on the hazards, the lights in the rear don't flash (along with there being no brake lights.) I swung over to O'Reilly's to purchase a new hazzard warning switch. They had 2 options: A Dorman unit with a 3 year warranty for $70, or a Novita unit with a 1 year warranty for $40. I chose the latter. The part is very easy to change out, and all you need to complete the task is 2 flat-blade screwdrivers. Well, after looking at a few mutts at the pound and checking out other breeds, we came to the conclusion that what was best for our family was to "go with what we know." Aside from the usual puppy "growing pains" she so far has been a wonderful and loving hound and a perfect fit for our family of Jackwagons!! (Although the cat would disagree with that sentiment...)
