Betwys via Pen y pass 22 June 2026

A ride over the Llanberis Pass (Pen Y Pass), from various start points. In my case, i started from where i live, just off Penrhos Road, near to Ysbyty Gwynedd Hospital. I followed the B4547 just before Y Felinheli Village, this took me to the A244 and then left at the roundabout on the A4086 to Llanberis. The road takes you past Llyn Padarn (Llanberis Lake then on to Llyn Peris (Peris's Lake, associated with Saint Peris (a 6th-century Christian saint). Then on through the village of Nant Peris, staying on the A4086 up the Pen Y Pass to the summit, where you can find refreshments at the 4 star HMA Hotel. Carrying down the next part of the pass to the T junction, you can take the right turn on the A498 to Beddgelert, or turn left on the A4086 which is the road from Llanberis. This road takes you to Capel Curig, it's the A5 to Bangor via Bathesda if you take a left, or go right for Betwys Y Coed.
