Want to build muscle, support strong bones and get stronger after 40? This 10-minute vibration plate strength workout for women over 40 combines whole-body vibration with hand weights for a simple full-body resistance workout. We’ll work your arms, shoulders, legs, core and balance while adding the resistance your muscles need as you age.
After 40, strength training becomes increasingly important. Maintaining muscle isn't just about looking toned. Muscle supports everyday movement, balance, metabolism, independence and healthy aging, while resistance and weight-bearing exercise are important components of supporting bone health.
And you don't necessarily need an hour in the gym.
In this 10-minute vibration plate workout, we're adding hand weights to purposeful movement so you're doing more than simply standing on the plate.
In this workout, we'll focus on:
✔️ Full-body strength
✔️ Muscle activation
✔️ Upper-body resistance
✔️ Legs and glutes
✔️ Functional core strength
✔️ Balance and stability
✔️ Weight-bearing movement
✔️ Supporting muscle and bone health after 40

Choose hand weights that allow you to maintain good form. Heavier isn't automatically better, especially when you're combining weights with a vibration plate.
If you're new to whole body vibration or strength training, start conservatively. You can even perform the exercises without weights first and add resistance as you become more comfortable.
And remember: your vibration plate isn't doing the strength training FOR you.
You're still the one moving the weights, creating resistance and asking your muscles to work. The vibration plate is simply another tool we're incorporating into the workout.
If you're a woman in your 40s, 50s, 60s or beyond, don't underestimate what a consistent strength routine can do for how you move, feel and age.
Grab your weights, step onto your vibration plate and give me 10 minutes. 💪
