2026 09 26 NAUG 30th Anniversary Clipper

On the weekend of Sept 26 & 27, 2026, the Naugatuck Railroad marked its 30th Anniversary with special trains. Here's the highlights from Saturday's trip from Thomaston to Waterbury, CT & return, including the photo stops and runbys along the way. Motive power was originally supposed to be the RMNE's RS-3 #529 (ex-New Haven), but its restoration isn't complete yet, so they substituted NAUG U23B #2798, repainted in spring 2026 into a red/white/blue scheme to celebrate our country's 250th anniversary. Despite a Nor'Easter hitting southern New England, it was a great trip, with the heaviest of rain holding off during our photo stops.
