Phylum Cnidaria: Introduction and Body Plan

We now introduce the cnidarians, our first group of animals with true tissues. They are primarily marine with two alternate body forms: polyp or Medusa. These organisms are characterized by unique cnidocytes: cells that produce stinging organelles.
