A visit to Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Samui

Elephant sanctuaries can be controversial, but Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Samui, which we visited, genuinely seemed to be doing the right thing for these rescued elephants. 🐘❤️ The sanctuary is home to seven female elephants rescued from circuses, tourist-riding attractions and other difficult conditions. Here, they can finally enjoy a safe and peaceful retirement. There is no riding, no tricks and no forced performances. The elephants are free to roam as they please, entirely on their own terms. Visitors can respectfully move among these gentle old giants, making the sense of freedom even stronger. The staff appeared caring, knowledgeable and genuinely committed to the elephants’ wellbeing.
