1972 Johnson 6hp lots of repairs

I bought this Johnson 6hp for $50 on Marketplace knowing it didn’t run, but not knowing what was wrong. It appears the owner had hit something at full speed, destroying parts in the lower unit and drive shaft. We replaced the drive shaft, pinion gear, shifter spring, prop shaft bushing, and then we resealed the gear case. I cleaned the carb, checked compression and spark, and right when I was ready to test it discovered a fuel pump leak. We fixed the fuel pump and this motor runs like a champ and idles flawlessly. $50 purchase price $25 seal kit $15 pinion $10 gear shift spring $13 drive shaft clip $45 drive shaft $158 total plus my time and the motor runs great now!
