Robotic Veneer Pairing and Plywood Grading System

This robotic veneer pairing and plywood grading system runs two robots on one line, built in partnership with ‪@Con-Vey‬. The first robot pairs veneer sheets into stacks. The second grades plywood. Both use vision to check every corner of every sheet for defects and to align it into a square stack, no manual squaring needed. The system picks up a new sheet every 8 seconds and handles thousands of sheets a day across 4' x 8' and 4' x 10' veneer and plywood. The line runs on a continuous feed. Con-Vey's conveyors move sheets in and stacks out without a stop, so neither robot sits idle waiting on a load or a stack change. Anything the vision system catches, or anything an operator flags by hand, gets pulled and routed to a separate reject cart automatically, keeping defective sheets out of the good stack without slowing production down.
