A Star Trek Fan Helped Put Scotty Back on Kirk's Bridge

In 1992, Star Trek: The Next Generation wanted to put Scotty back on the original Enterprise bridge, but that bridge had been torn down in 1969, and rebuilding it was too expensive. So the production borrowed part of it from a fan. This is the behind-the-scenes production story of TNG's "Relics": how TNG went from refusing to even say Spock's name to bringing James Doohan's Scotty back, why the bridge almost got cut, and how a blue-screen trick, a single wedge of set, and a fan's convention prop recreated the most famous set in TV history. Plus, a deleted scene that explains why Troi gave Scotty that kiss. Related Video: “Gene Roddenberry Thought Worf Was Just Background” Worf was not originally considered a main character on TNG. He was beat up to make alien villains look tough, and thrown into the background… but that’s not the whole story. See how Worf (Michael Dorn) overcame that to become the character with the most appearances in all of Star Trek.
