Can you really run Klipper on an Ender 3 for under $30? I set out to build a 'sleeper' Klipper system—no external wires, no bulky computers—just a Raspberry Pi Zero 2W and some clever wiring.
In this video, I walk through the exact parts I used, the $4 buck converter that made it possible, and how I (mostly) hit my budget goal.
I walk through:
Choosing the Pi and SD card
Wiring the buck converter safely
Installing Pi OS Light and setting up SSH
Installing Klipper with KIAUH
Calibrating your printer (PID tuning, rotational distance, bed leveling, and nozzle height)
This build is sleek, self-contained, and surprisingly easy for anyone comfortable with basic electronics. No external wires, no additional boxes — just a fully functional sleeper Klipper setup inside your Ender 3.

Disclaimer: Modifying your printer’s internal power wiring can be dangerous. Only attempt if you are confident with DC electronics. You are responsible for your own hardware.
