We bought a storm-damaged Leopard 48, and this is the beginning of bringing it back! We’ve already posted a lot of the early cleanup in short-form videos on Instagram, including removing wreckage from the boat, clearing out the mess, and documenting those first few days of figuring out exactly what we had gotten ourselves into. A lot of people asked us to start making longer YouTube videos so they could follow the entire process in more detail, so this is the start of that. If you want to follow the full refit from damaged boat to finished cruising catamaran, subscribe. I’m planning to document the entire process, including the repairs, upgrades, mistakes, decisions, costs, and everything we learn along the way. One of the upcoming videos will be a full “boat budget” breakdown where I’ll go through what we paid for the boat, what I expect the refit to cost, where I think the money will go, and then eventually compare that estimate to what we actually spend. We’re also planning a major electrical upgrade with either a 24V or 48V lithium system, a large solar array, and a focus on building efficient systems for cruising and living aboard. In this video I mention that a lot of our attention had been focused on selling our Leopard 43. That boat is now sold, and you can follow the new owners here: Instagram: @sv_fine_a_lee   / sv_fine_a_lee   You can also follow The Yacht Rigger for shorter updates and behind-the-scenes footage: Instagram:   / theyachtrigger   Website: https://www.theyachtrigger.com There is still a very long way to go, and I already have a huge amount of footage waiting to be edited and uploaded over the coming days and weeks. This is also my first-ever long-form video edit, so I know I have plenty to improve. If you make it through the video, I’d really appreciate the feedback. What would you like to see more of as this project continues? More technical detail? More costs and budget numbers? More of the actual work? More mistakes and problem-solving? Let me know in the comments, ask questions, and subscribe if you want to follow the entire build.
