A new full-size pickup now costs $60,000 to $80,000, and a lot of them are financed over 84 months — which means you are still making payments the year it needs its first big repair.
Meanwhile there is a truck on a gravel lot near you with a steel bumper and crank windows that will do every single thing that new one does. Marked down twice. Nobody has looked at it in three weeks.
We did this with sedans, then with SUVs, and both went further than anything else on this channel. Trucks was the most requested follow-up by a mile.
Five this time, not eight — trucks deserve more time each, and there is more to check on a truck than on a car. Every one graded on the same checklist, and every one with its real weak point said out loud.
⭐ Number 1 is going to make a certain kind of truck owner genuinely angry. It is on the list anyway.
⚠️ At 8:30 — the one engine to avoid inside an otherwise great truck. Same badge, same year.

👇 Which of these five would you actually buy — and which one did I get wrong? And if you got mad about number 1, tell me what you tow and how often. I read those, and so does everybody else who scrolls down here.

⚠️ Always get it on a lift before you buy. On a truck, the frame and the bed floor tell you more than anything on top.
