JIYUGAOKA 1984.
One night before a moving day in a rented house, told in ten original Japanese city pop songs —
from dividing the dishes to the boxes going out in the morning.
📦 Tonight's story: She is twenty-five and shares a rented house in Jiyugaoka with a friend who moves out
tomorrow. A last trip to the shops, a stop at a café, boxes loaded into a borrowed car and a dance
across the cleared floor, while the two of them settle who keeps each record and each cup — and
leave the date of the first visit to the new place blank.
🎧 Ten original songs, female vocal, about an hour and a quarter. Best with the lights low.
A note on this scene: every detail belongs to 1984 — quiet residential streets, an ordinary café,
records, cassette tapes and paper moving slips. There is no later shopping complex on these streets,
and no real shop appears. We name no real companies.
