🇯🇲🦁 JAMAICAN DUB — THE CIRCLE
Nonlinear Kingston Experiments Vol.113
Slow one drop roots dub · inspired by 1976
Eight men in a yard behind the houses, banana leaves overhead, a stack of
cabinets against the wall. One sits at the centre on a low stool, hands
folded, a tall wooden drum standing beside him. The others are around
him with their arms crossed, waiting. Everyone is looking at the camera
and nobody is playing yet.
This one is built on the one drop — the first beat left empty, kick and
snare arriving together on the third. Hand drums are doubled over the
kit throughout, and almost everything is thrown into long delay. Slower
and deeper than the last few volumes.

🕐 HOW TO LISTEN
Deep and unhurried — this sits well at low volume for reading, work or
late evenings, and it rewards a good bass response. Act II has the most
space in it. Act IV is the heaviest on echo.
⚡ HYPE THIS VOLUME
Vol.111 was built on the rockers pattern; this one goes to the one drop.
If you have a preference between them, say which in the comments — it
helps the algorithm find listeners who know the difference, and it tells
me where to take Vol.114.

🎧 ABOUT THE SERIES
Nonlinear Kingston Experiments is an ongoing set of instrumental dub
volumes, each built around a single idea: a room, a rhythm, a piece of
equipment, a time of day. Every volume stands alone. None of them
reference real artists, labels or studios — this is imagined 1970s
Kingston, not a reissue.
