What are the technical building blocks behind Blue Dots, and how do they work together to enable local discovery?
This session introduces the two Digital Public Goods (DPGs) that power the Blue Dots approach.
The Signal DPG manages the registry of dots, maps and search capabilities, while the Aggregator DPG enables aggregators to manage the lifecycle of dots. Together, they provide the underlying infrastructure for making local supply and demand discoverable and helping them connect.
Follow a live demonstration of the setup process, including the available repositories, public Docker images and AWS provisioning scripts. The session also explores how dots can be created through self-sign-up, bulk uploads, QR code forms and voice agents, alongside how consent and personal information are handled.
The DPGs can be deployed on a local system in about five minutes, giving implementers a practical starting point to explore, adapt and build on the infrastructure.
Explore the architecture, access the open-source building blocks and understand how to set up the foundation for your own use case.
