The overall objective of this experiment is to analyze the behavior of the adsorption breakthrough and elution curves associated with the separation of CO2 from N2 using activated carbon. The loading capacity of this activated carbon, qF, can be determined and used to model the experimental breakthrough and elution curves. The effect of temperature and bed length on the loading capacity, breakthrough and elution times, and the length of unused bed (LUB) will also be studied.
