EDITORS NOTE: I would like to introduce the viewers of FatCatTech to our new mobile division of test footage, headed and filmed by my lovely partner, @KairahStardust. Thanks to her, cell phones will be able to be a regular occurrence on this channel! You also may have noticed the uploads have become more consistent again, and I can finally say, with confidence, that we will be uploading every other Saturday (once-per-two weeks) for the foreseeable future!
Here are her thoughts on the phone:
The Samsung Galaxy A53 is a midrange budget smartphone from 2022, it features a quad rear camera setup and a single-lens 32 megapixel selfie camera (the selfie camera was not tested in this video). The main camera features a 64 megapixel sensor with optical image stabilization. The phone also features a ultra wide lens utilizing a 12 megapixel sensor, the remaining two lenses consist of macro and depth sensors running at 5 megapixels each.
While the image stabilizer works very well, it can tend to feel floaty, the picture will keep moving even once the user has stopped adjusting the phone’s position.
Zooming is archived by digitally zooming between each lens, this can cause weird differences in quality between shots if you adjust your zoom. 10x digital zoom is the phone’s maximum zoom.
Picture quality is generally great in high-mid levels of light and colors remain consistent, though low light levels create a lot of noise and distortion in the picture.
The Camera UI is simplistic and easy to use giving the user lots of options to adjust and tune, though the grid lines can be difficult to see in certain lighting conditions.
The phone’s microphone is great in all levels of sound from near silent to a busy city street, the microphone almost never peaks under any normal filming conditions.
