Why is it not simply called Faker D-Sides? Because like stated above, Chameleon is a D-Sides TAKE on Exe. Which means that there is already a D-Sides version of EXE. It also features many other horror-oriented characters from other official and fan-made Sonic media, including Sonic (PC PORT), Sonic CD, Sunky, Sonic R, Sonic Shorts, and Sonic the Comic.
