A general introduction to applied linguistics and how it could be useful in the realm of language revitalization. The portions on other linguistic disciplines are meant to give an idea of them without taking a lot of time which means there's a lot left out. For example, what constitutes a corpus can vary depending on geographic location and academic culture in that region. The applied portion is meant to illustrate how it can be useful in this specific context so, again, there's a lot left out. The for example here is that many universities put applied linguistics under education or english instead of in the linguistics department because so many applied linguists work in those realms.
