STYLOPHONE ON-THE-FLY - Performance Sequencer

Matt came down to show us the  ‪@Stylophone‬  On The Fly, the first product in the company's new Music Lab series. It is designed to support the CPM range, but it also works as a standalone desktop or portable  sequencer, and it can be mounted in Eurorack. On The Fly is a performance sequencer built around real-time variation rather than stop-start editing. It has two four-step patterns, A and B, which combine into longer 16, 32 or 64-step structures. Pattern order and direction can be changed, with forward, reverse and bounce playback available. Pitch is quantised to selectable scales, with chromatic and continuous modes also available. Connectivity includes MIDI in and out on mini jack, sync in and out, play/stop I/O, reset, CV input, pitch CV output and gate output. The gate output switches between 5V and 10V, and MIDI and CV outputs can run at the same time. It allows you to select steps, change pitches, chain A and B patterns, add per-step functions such as skip, rest, tie, slide, ratchet and random, then save the results into three banks of eight memories. It also includes real-time transpose, momentary effects, swing, clock division, fine timing, and a pretty neat loop recorder that captures up to 128 steps and can store 24 loop recordings - with pretty much all front panel parameters recordable into it - you can make some pretty complex recordings.
