Driving from Phoenix to Saguaro National Park, Arizona, turned into a completely unexpected adventure! As we got closer to the park, sudden heavy flooding hit the area. Water was rushing across the roads, and we saw several cars struggling and even getting stuck in the floodwater. We decided to carefully continue through the flooded roads, and the Kia Sportage handled the conditions surprisingly well. Because of the heavy flooding, only part of Saguaro National Park was open, while other areas were closed due to dangerous road conditions and flooding. This was not the normal Saguaro National Park experience—massive desert cactus landscapes, sudden Arizona monsoon flooding, water-covered roads, stranded cars, and an unexpected off-road-style drive.
