Headlines recently broke that McLaren automotive received a $500 Million dollar investment to expand manufacturing, bring engine, production in house, hire 1,000 new employees creating new jobs, and develop the brands first ever McLaren SUV. McLarens Chief Operating Officer made it clear McLaren is going after the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT, Lamborghini urus and Aston martin DBX 707 market with their first ever SUV. Along with an SUV mclaren is also getting very close to showing the new Artura successor hybrid supercar. A McLaren W1 Spider is said to be announced very soon, and McLaren also announced they will building their first grand tourer type car to compete with the Aston Martin DB12 and Bentley Continental GT, as well as Ferrari Amalfi. The first photos of the New Artura spotted testing have surfaced online, showing some McLaren F1 looks as inspiration. The New Artura engine will be an updated version of the V6 hybrid powertrain in the Artura now, but this time it will make 820hp up from 700hp in the Artura. A name has not been announced yet, but rumor has it McLaren will return to the numbers naming scheme like the 570s that Artura succeeded. McLaren has put off making an SUV for as long as possible, but the company needs the success an SUV can provide desperately. The Porsche Cayenne double Porsche sales overnight when it debuted, and now McLaren hopes for a similar result. The Cayenne Turbo GT has been named as the benchmark for the mclaren SUV. This means we can expect the mclaren SUV to be similar in size to the Cayenne Coupe, and feature a twin turbo V8 with all wheel drive. Surprisingly the McLaren SUV is not the only 4 seat car the brand announced. McLaren is also planning to introduce their first 2+2 GT front engined grand tourer. A big surprise for many as McLaren have always focused on rear mid engined supercars like the McLaren 720s. The most grand touring car McLaren have made so far is the GTS, which is still a mid engined supercar. Now McLaren is saying they want to take on the Aston martin DB12 S, Ferrari Amalfi and Dodici Cilindri or 12cilindri, as well as the Bentley Continental GT. The future McLaren Gt will be more sporty than these cars to be sure with the exception of the Ferrari perhaps. Interestingly enough McLaren did not rule out a 4 door option as well, meaning the new GT car could be the first ever McLaren Sedan. A W1 spider is said to be announced very soon, an interesting move as there was never a McLaren P1 Spider. McLarens history is full of amazing spider variants of the supercars and now the W1 will get its chance. Seemingly off in the distant future is the true successor to the Mclaren 720s, which should feature the same twin turbo V8 found in the W1 hypercar. The McLaren SUV and new Artura are both said to be coming sooner then the new 720s, 750s replacement car. Speaking of History, McLaren decided to change its Logo to be more inline with the company's new direction. The new McLaren Logo was almost bigger news than any of the new hybrid supercars and SUV's the brand is about to produce, almost.
