Elidir Fawr & Y Garn Hike | Snowdonia National Park

It was an awesome day out in the mountains. Quite a challenging route up towards Y Garn followed by a ridge walk providing some of the best views of the Snowdonia National Park then later ascending Elidir Fawr. We started our route in Nant Peris ascending towards Y Garn and it is a relentless, steep ascent to the top! Worth it though to see excellent views of Tryfan and Glyder Fawr. Making our way along the ridge allowed us to get our breath back before tackling Elidir. Elidir, the most northern peak of Glyderau. It is known as Big Elidir referencing a 6th-century warrior king in Welsh legend. There is also a power station inside the mountain where water flows from the upper reservoir of Marchlyn Mawr to the lower Llyn Peris. I wish I could say that descending was much easier!
