What is life really like for a mother raising two kids in Hanoi, Vietnam on just $230 a month? In this video, I’m taking you through a normal day in my life as a 35-year-old office worker and mother of two living in Hanoi, Vietnam. From making breakfast for my kids, fighting morning rush-hour traffic, and trying not to be late for work, to bringing leftovers for lunch, resting with coworkers, stopping by the local market, cooking dinner, and helping my kids with schoolwork — this is what an ordinary day looks like for me. I currently earn about $230 a month, and raising two children on a low income isn’t easy. I’m constantly trying to balance work, family, bills, food, and time with my kids. Some days I wonder if I should take on another job to earn more. But after work, cooking, cleaning, helping with homework, and taking care of the kids, I often don’t finish everything until close to midnight. This video isn’t about a perfect life. It’s simply a look at our everyday life in Hanoi — the small struggles, the family moments, and the little things that keep us going. Thank you for spending the day with us.
