Your book can open doors to speaking, teaching, partnerships, and new revenue. Discover how the Atlanta Black Chambers is bringing authors together to turn Black intellectual property into economic opportunity. Recorded October 8, 2026, this ABC Authorpreneurs Initiative Virtual Meet and Greet introduces a community focused on elevating authors, connecting expertise, and building book-based businesses. Published and aspiring authors share their work and explore how collaboration can expand their reach. Featured leadership and insights: • Melvin Coleman, President and CEO of the Atlanta Black Chambers, introduces the vision for supporting authors through the ABC business community. • Rich Wilkins, founding chair, and Dr. Ursula D. Frederick-Brown, initiative co-leader, outline the purpose of the initiative and opportunities to get involved. • Angie Sims, Executive Director of Atlanta Black Expo and a five-time author, discusses positioning, partnerships, and monetizing expertise. • Taurea Avant, author of From Book to Booked, shares strategies for bulk book purchases, referrals, collaborative events, and speaking opportunities. • Darryl Marquette, founder of Divine Word Publishing House, explains support for the journey from manuscript to marketplace. • Kimberly Sellars-Bates, author of Get Grant Ready, discusses learning, visibility, and using authorship as a business asset. • Dr. Calvin Ellison shares how books can become programs and presentations that serve communities. The author showcase includes Charles Ancrum, Teddy Astin, attorney Sharon Baker-Boykin, Lisa Stringer Bailey, Dr. Daisy Jones, Sheena Robinson, Steven Turner, Katrina Godfrey-Williams, and Deric Gilliard, with additional audience contributions. Their work spans science fiction, music history, financial education, faith, wellness, leadership, and personal transformation. Community announcements include Katrina Godfrey-Williams’s October 17 book signing at Pittsburgh Yards and Taurea Avant’s October 24 workshop at the Russell Center, with an invitation for five authors to request free vendor tables.
