義経号（国鉄7100形蒸気機関車7105号機）は、1880年にアメリカから輸入された日本最古級の蒸気機関車であり、北海道の幌内鉄道での活躍を経て、現在は京都鉄道博物館で保存されています。 ・北海道での開業と活躍1880年（明治13年）：アメリカのH.K.ポーター社で製造され、北海道初の鉄道である官営幌内鉄道の開業に伴い導入されました。 ・石炭輸送：開拓期の北海道で、幌内から手宮の間を中心に石炭や物資の輸送に貢献しました。 ・本州への移動と保存鉄道記念物：歴史的価値が高いことから、鉄道記念物に指定されています。 ・各地での保存：長らく大阪の交通科学博物館などで展示されていましたが、同館の閉館に伴い京都へ移設されました。 現在：京都市の京都鉄道博物館に収蔵され、動態保存・展示がおこなわれています。 Yoshitsune (JNR Class 7100 steam locomotive No. 7105) is one of Japan's oldest surviving steam locomotives, imported from the United States in 1880. After its active service on Hokkaido's Horonai Railway, it is now preserved at the Kyoto Railway Museum. Opening and Operations in Hokkaido (1880 / Meiji 13): Built by H.K. Porter, Inc. in the United States, it was introduced with the opening of the government-run Horonai Railway, Hokkaido's first railway. Coal Transportation: During Hokkaido's pioneering era, it contributed to the transport of coal and supplies, primarily between Horonai and Temiya. Relocation to Honshu and Railway Memorial: Due to its high historical value, it has been officially designated as a Railway Memorial. Preservation Across Regions: It was exhibited for a long time at the Transportation Museum in Osaka and other locations, but was relocated to Kyoto following the museum's closure.
