Mount Baker Summit #1 Via Easton Glacier, WA

July 6, 2026. Finally made the trek north to tag Mount Baker. Cascade Volcano summit 17 of 20. We could not have asked for a more perfect day on the mountain. Car camped at the trailhead the night before. Started hiking at 2:53am. We reached the ridge above treeline around sunrise. Spectacular views of the rugged North Cascades. Roped up just above Sandy Camp. Very defined bootpack across the glacier made navigation easy. A few small step over cracks were present along the route. Reached the summit in under 6 hours and then reversed back out.
