Hi guys! 503 km/h (312.66 mph) POV: ride along inside the Yangwang U9 Xtreme as it becomes the first production car ever to break the 500 km/h barrier. With a top speed of 503.17 km/h, BYD’s 3,019 hp electric hypercar beats its own previous record of 496.22 km/h (308.34 mph), set last year. The run earned two Guinness World Records: fastest production car in a one-way run, all powertrains combined, and fastest electric production car under the same conditions. The record has also been officially recognized by the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile), the world governing body of motorsport. The record attempt took place on November 1, 2026, on the Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed International Road (E11), in the Al Dhafra region of Abu Dhabi. Behind the wheel was once again Marc Basseng, the sports car and endurance racing driver who had already set the U9 Xtreme’s previous production car top speed record at the ATP Papenburg proving ground in Germany in September 2025.
