Tie-dye, plaid, sequins, beads: DSquared2 brings grunge-chic to Milan Fashion Week

(13 Jan 2019) TIE-DYE, PLAID, SEQUINS, BEADS: DSQUARED2 BRINGS GRUNGE-CHIC TO MILAN FASHION WEEK The show was meant to gather a big crowd and those who managed to stay, despite the standing positions around the catwalk, witnessed a pop, rock 'n roll, grungy disco creativity. Dean and Dan, the Caten brothers described their latest DSquared2 line with three words: steep, Nirvana, opulence. They wanted a style that was fast and aggressive, grunge with a tie-dyed hippie twist and timeless, coming from rich embroideries and bold fabrics. Tartan T-shirts, tank tops and urban outer pieces were splashed with metal and colorful prints. Dresses, miniskirts and parkas were covered with sparkling sequins. All of this was combined with a outdoorsy feel (they are Canadian, after all)_ shearling coats were worn by both men and women, with women wearing tall boots to cover their bare legs.
