The Worst Part About Electronic Drum Kits...(It's NOT the Sound) I've had my Roland TD-17 Drum Kit for over 6 years now, and while I've certainly enjoyed my time with it, there's been one thing bugging me about it the entire time. But it's not just a problem with this specific kit, it's an issue that plagues every single entry to intermediate level kit on the market. The included drum racks! They make it incredibly difficult to customize the layout of the kit to the drummers liking, essentially forcing them into a "standard 2 up one down" setup with the ride cymbal way off to the right. As someone with a jazz background whose kits always revolve around a 4 piece setup (one up, one down, ride in close) that forced layout simply doesn't work for me. So today I'm attempting to setup my kit using only stand from my acoustic kits, allowing me the freedom I've been craving this whole time!
