After painting the entire car with rattle cans in the last episode, it was time to turn the freshly painted shell back into something resembling a finished Porsche. We fit the skirts, bonnet, spoiler, lights and exterior hardware, install all of the glass and tackle a slightly questionable windscreen installation along the way… Then comes the moment I’ve been waiting for - the restored gold BBS wheels go back on, the spacers are fitted and the car is finally lowered onto the ground with its finished stance. For the first time, I get to step back and see the completed exterior of the Fake 911… and I genuinely can’t believe how good it looks. There’s still an interior to build and plenty of work before we can drive it out of the barn, but this feels like one of the biggest milestones of the entire project!
