After lying low for a few weeks with a shoulder injury, followed by a few easy hikes to get back into the swing of things, today we hit the hills again and it was definitely worth the wait. Starting off from Eastby, which is a couple of miles outside Swindon, we climbed to the top of Embsay Crag and were greeted with the most magnificent views of what North Yorkshire has to offer. After getting our breath back, we decended down to Embsay Reservoir, capturing even more magnificent views. From there, it was a climb past Crookwise Woods, with the overwhelming scent of the pine trees and onto Crookwise Trig point. After a stroll down to Waterfall Gill Beck, we climbed to reach Rylstone Cross, then onto Cracoe Obelisk War Memorial, where once again we were greeted with the most amazing views of the surrounding countryside. Then we tracked over Barden Moor, past Upper Barden Reservoir to return to our start point in Eastby. #EmbsayCrag #EmbsayReservoir #RylstoneCross
