Tarfala - a Force of Nature | Lappland, Sweden

The Tarfala valley and neighbouring valleys/high passes are known for strong and gusty winds, and the highest wind gust ever recorded in Sweden, at 81m/s, took place in Tarfala. Records aside, winds are generally high, and especially gusty, in this area. Knowing this, what nevertheless attracted me was the raw beauty of the landscape, and my thinking that hiking here would be a true experience of the fundamental elements and forces of nature. My 6 day loop hike was well worth the effort, as walking thru such wilderness evokes a number of very special feelings in me.
