1966 Custom Kraft Power Sonic 6V6 Tube Amp Service (PART 1)

Here's one that was shipped to me in poorly condition. You do not see these often. Badged as a Custom Kraft, like several other brands originating from Chicago at the time, it was not built by Custom Kraft. Many people attribute these to Valco because of the knobs (the same knobs can be seen on Valco guitars from 1967-68 like the Supro Lexington), and because Valco did make some Custom Kraft amps in 1968, including a version of the Supro Thunderbolt, but it was in my opinion made by Radionic Industries, a company still in existence in Chicago which makes lighting ballasts today, and which in the 1960s was also contracted to build amps for brands like Kay. They built the Kay 703, an example of which can be found in a couple of my other videos. This non-working amp chassis had been sent in a home-built cabinet with no speaker. In this video, we will unbox it, see what we've gotten ourselves into, and begin the task of troubleshooting, repair, and service.
