Today, we journey to the shrine of the legendary Sufi saint, Hazrat Jalaluddin Surkh-Posh Bukhari (R.A). Born in 1198 CE in Bukhara (modern-day Uzbekistan), Hazrat Jalaluddin Haider migrated to South Asia, eventually settling in Uch in 1244 CE. He was a descendant of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) through the Naqvi line and became a pivotal figure in the Suhrawardiyya Sufi order. You might wonder why he is famously called "Surkh-Posh" (The Red-Clad). Historically, he was known for frequently wearing a red mantle or cloak. Legends also speak of his spiritual passion and a miraculous incident involving a fire trial during the Mongol invasions, from which he emerged unharmed, further cementing his title as the "Red Saint.
