Broader challenges influencing the design of CIC-rearranged sarcoma treatments

Emanuela Palmerini, MD, Istituto Ortopedico Rizzoli, Bologna, Italy, comments on how the median age of diagnosis with capicua transcriptional repressor (CIC)-rearranged sarcoma influences treatment design. Though the specific median age varies with subtype, it is frequently diagnosed in adolescence and young adulthood, and therefore the challenge is to design treatments that are effective while also limiting imposition on everyday age-appropriate activities.
