What Do I Believe About Our Culture? | Benjer McVeigh | October 25th, 2026

In week two of our series, God's will for Democrats, Republicans, & Conspiracy Theorists, Pastor Benjer walks us through Jeremiah 29:4-7 and God's instruction to the Israelites living in exile: seek the welfare of the city where God has placed you. We examined the five distinguishing marks of the first followers of Jesus: ethnic diversity, care for the poor and marginalized, forgiveness rather than retaliation, protection of children against abortion and infanticide, and a radically different sexual ethic and how together, these marks reveal a vision of Christianity that cannot be reduced to a political platform or ideology. As followers of Jesus we aren't called to assimilating into culture or separate ourselves from it. We're called to seek its transformation, pursue flourishing of our communities and live with courageous hope because Jesus is on the throne.
