A major food safety raid was conducted across Egara city by the Food Safety Department and Egara Police. During the joint operation, officials reportedly recovered large quantities of expired chocolates, biscuits, chanachur and other substandard food items from a chanachur factory operating in unhygienic conditions. Several restaurants were also inspected, where allegedly rotten meat, spoiled eggs and cooked food containing prohibited chemical colours were found. Notices were issued to K99 Restaurant and Kolkata Ashirbad Biryani, while food samples have been sent to a laboratory for testing.
