3rd September 2026 was the birth centenary of legendary Bengali film hero Uttam Kumar, who is immortal in the heart of most Bengali people through his work. He is famous not only in Bengal, but to the Bengali speaking diaspora throughout India and abroad. We have tried to capture the essence of his charisma, personality and diversity of the roles and characters he played in some iconic films through the voice-acting of some of the iconic scenes of the selected few films Chhadmabeshi, Nayak, Indrani, Chiriakhana and Saptapadi of the golden era of film making in Bengal in the 50s and 60s of last century. Some of the films like Nayak and Chiriakhana have earned best film awards in different festivals like Berlin.
