Why does God allow His people to experience pressure, suffering and weakness? In 2 Corinthians 4:1–15, the Apostle Paul reveals that believers carry an extraordinary treasure—the light and life of Jesus Christ—in ordinary, fragile “jars of clay.”
We may be hard pressed, but we are not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but never abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed. Our weakness does not disqualify us. It creates an opportunity for the surpassing power of God to be seen through us.
In this verse-by-verse Bible message, Pastor Nate Cate explains what “treasure in jars of clay” means, how Satan blinds people to the light of the gospel, why Christians can remain hopeful during suffering and how the resurrection of Jesus changes the way we face hardship.
If you feel overwhelmed, discouraged or broken, 2 Corinthians 4 offers this powerful reminder: God has not abandoned you, and your present suffering is not the end of your story.
Join Pastor Nate Cate and Calvary Chapel Vallejo as we study 2 Corinthians 4:1–15 and discover how the light, power and resurrection life of Jesus shine through human weakness.
