Portugal starts a last offensive against Queen Isabella I of Castile in the War of the Castilian Succession (1475-1479), but they are defeated at Albuera in February 1479. Afonso V of Portugal has nothing left but to ask for peace. The parties start a long negotiation of a peace treaty, and they sign a peace treaty, the Treaty of Alcáçovas, which demands big sacrifices from both sides. The main cause of the war, Joanna 'la Beltraneja', claimant to the throne of Castile, has only two options left according to the treaty: wait 14 years and marry Isabella's infant son Prince John or enter a convent now. Isabel s02e06 - Sultan 'Isabel' is a Spanish TV series about the life of Isabella I, Queen regnant of Castile, one of the most important Spanish monarchs, from her childhood years till her death after 3 decades of ruling.
