Who(se) You Are?

What does it really mean to be a Christian? Not just in terms of what you believe, but in terms of who you are and whose you are? These two questions shape everything, from how you pray to how you handle hard seasons to how you see yourself in relation to God. Using the story of David and Goliath from 1 Samuel 17, we explore what it looks like to be a tool in God's hands. David never credited the sling. He never went back and talked about the weapon that took down a giant. He simply said the Lord is my shepherd. The victory was never about what was in his hands. It was about whose hands he was in. That same truth applies to your life right now. We also dig into Ephesians 1, one of the most powerful passages in all of Scripture about Christian identity. God did not adopt you out of obligation. He did not lose a bet or run out of options. He chose you before the world was made, and Scripture says it gave Him great pleasure to bring you into His family. The Greek word for adoption used in Ephesians 1 is huiothesia, which means full status as a son or daughter, not a second-class membership. Full belonging. Full inheritance. Full access to God as your Father. Proverbs 16:9 and Psalm 139:16 remind us that where we are is not an accident. God has us exactly where He wants us, for a reason, in a season that He is using for His purposes.
