With a travel height of 56.8 meters, 16 stations and 35 wooden cabins, the Liberec paternoster is considered the largest in the Czech Republic. A paternoster lift consists of open cabins attached to a continuously moving chain. The cabins on one side travel upward, while those on the other side travel downward. At the top and bottom, each cabin is guided across to the opposite side of the system. The cabin does not flip upside down or rotate – it remains upright throughout the entire loop. From inside, however, riding over the top still feels unusual, fascinating and slightly mysterious.
