Yaesu’s FTX‑1 Field Edition: Quick test on 20 meters, 144 MHz, Air Bands, NOAA WX & GMRS!

Hey Everyone! In this video, we’re unboxing a fresh arrival for the shack — the Yaesu FTX‑1 Field Edition. Retailers are blowing out huge discounts on these right now, so it’s the perfect time to take a closer look. This quick rundown shows the radio in action: a check‑in to a net on 20 meters, monitoring my 144.288 MHz beacon, tuning through the air bands, NOAA Weather Radio, and even GMRS. A compact field rig with a surprising amount of range — let’s put it through its paces. A big shoutout to Evan/K0QZ for helping me test out the GMRS receive!
