This is an independent artistic tribute imagining how this original ghazal might feel when approached through that kind of soulful Sufi-ghazal expression. یہ عابدہ پروین کی آواز یا ان کی ریکارڈنگ نہیں ہے، اور نہ ہی انہوں نے اس گیت میں شرکت کی ہے۔ یہ فیصل شاہ کی اصل غزل ہے، جسے عابدہ پروین سے منسوب صوفیانہ، بے ساختہ اور وجدانی اندازِ غزل کو خراجِ تحسین پیش کرتے ہوئے تخلیقی طور پر پیش کیا گیا ہے۔ The idea began with one question: “اگر عابدہ پروین یہ غزل گاتیں، تو شاید کس کیفیت میں گاتیں؟” And from that imagination came this tribute. 🌹 اصل غزل — سینے سے لگا رکھا ہے جس کو دنیا نے دیوانہ بنا رکھا ہے میں نے اس نام کو سینے سے لگا رکھا ہے جو ترے سر پہ برستے تھے وہ پتھر سمیٹ کر تاج کی طرح انہیں میں نے سجا رکھا ہے محبت کو جو سزا کہتے ہیں، کیا جانیں ہم نے ہر درد کے اندر بھی صلہ رکھا ہے میں خدا تو نہیں، اے میرے پرستش والے میں نے بھی تجھ کو دعاؤں میں بسا رکھا ہے تجھ کو دیوانہ کہے جاتی ہے دنیا جو بھی عشق نے عرش پہ اک نام لکھا رکھا ہے جو صدا ڈھونڈتا پھرتا ہے یہ فیصلؔ ہر سو ہم نے وہ راز تری چاہ میں چھپا رکھا ہے English Translation Held Close to My Heart The one whom the world has branded a mad lover, I have held that very name close against my heart. I gathered every stone that once rained down upon you, And like a crown, I have adorned myself with them. What would those who call love a punishment ever know? Within every pain, I have found a reward. I am no God, O you who look upon me with devotion, Yet I too have kept you alive within my prayers. Let the world keep calling you a mad lover if it wishes; Love has already written a name upon the heavens. The voice that Faisalؔ wanders everywhere searching for— I have hidden that secret within my love for you. The Musical Idea This interpretation imagines the ghazal through an intimate Sufi mehfil atmosphere: Harmonium and tanpura open the space, followed by free melodic expression. Tabla gradually enters in Dadra, while repetition, takraar, bol-banao, melodic improvisation and moments of silence allow individual words to carry their emotional weight. “Deewana…” becomes a cry. “Sila…” becomes an answer. “Arsh…” rises.
