Christina Trentz (Coordinator, Integrated Mental Health Technical Assistance at Placer COE) joined office hours to share about universal screening work across the state of California. Trentz started with an overview of the Counting what Counts Landscape Analysis that identified barriers to implementing universal screening and opportunities across the State and the recently released implementation guide for universal screening. Through BHSSA there are nine universal screening grantees who are exploring the implementation of Universal Social Emotional and Behavioral Health (SEB) Health screening and informing potential future state guidance and best practices for future work. Christina then provided an overview of what Universal SEB health screenings are; how they should capture strengths, competencies, and concerns; and why they are important to implement as a part of a comprehensive multi-tiered system of support.
