Selected & Screened (05th September 26) in Jagran film festival 2026. Guzaarish is a poignant and heartwarming story written and executive directed by Dr. Omendra Kumar. The film effectively depicts the lives, hardships, and struggles of a father and daughter. It also conveys a social message about eye donation. The film depicts the love a father has for his daughter, who, after the death of her mother, has become one of their only supports. In the film, Manas's (Dr. Omendra Kumar) wife, Mansi (Neelu Singh), dies during the birth of their daughter, Manu (Sandhya Singh). Manas is now forced to raise Manu alone. After Mansi's departure, Manu is his sole support. Manu's eyesight gradually deteriorates from childhood. Her father is her only support, showing her the world through his eyes.  When Manu's eyesight is completely lost and no timely solution is found, marriage proposals are rejected. Life becomes even more challenging. The film revolves around the steps taken by Manu's father, Manas, to bring light and joy back into Manu's life. The film's emotional tone is truly beautiful. Of India, Zonal Cultural Centers, State Sangeet Natak Academies, State Cultural Departments, Sangeet Natak Academy, New Delhi. The presentation of all these dramas has been very successful and has been applauded by the public at large. There have been more than 200 such presentations. In 2011, The Ministry of Culture, Govt. India had recognized ‘Anukriti’ as a Repertoire.
