Inner Sanctum Mysteries - "The Silent Hands" (Old Time Radio, 1944)

Inner Sanctum Mysteries presents “The Silent Hands,” originally broadcast on May 13, 1944. Episode 176 of the CBS series stars Mary Astor and was written by Robert Sloane and Robert Tallman, with Himan Brown directing. On fog-shrouded bluffs above a West Coast harbor, police search for the mysterious “woman in white” in connection with a series of strangulation murders. When reporter Barnes follows an anonymous tip to Overlook Park, he and colleague McGraw are drawn to the unsettling Kohler house, where Nina and Carolyn Kohler—and a private aviary—add to the mounting unease. Inner Sanctum Mysteries presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
