Their songs can be about anything and they always leave you with a clear sense of the truth in relatable terms. And when Mark Hall sings I really believe him, which is pretty much the ball game for me. I had the privilege of meeting and singing along side Mark and Juan from C.C. a little over a year ago and I was nervous. I didn’t want this band, whom I’v admired since high-school, to shatter my expectations. But they did. In fact, they surpassed them. As people they are everything you’d hope: kind, unassuming and downright good guys. There’s nothing fraudulent about them. Sitting next to Mark on stage one night, hearing him pour out his heart to 100 people (far far less than he is accustomed to singing for) I prayed to myself, “God let me one day be this convicted, clear, honest and generous. Give me that kind of purity of heart when I sing and speak. Let me help people like that” I recorded this song (one of their earliest) as one way to get a little of their mojo.
