වැස්ස | The Rain I Wouldn’t Write About

This song is about rain — not as romance, but as resistance. Rain that interrupts childhood. Rain that blocks roads, floods homes, and silences classrooms. Rain that dries tea fields by refusing to come, and then arrives too much, too late. “I won’t write poems about you,” the song says — yet every memory, every image, every pause becomes a poem shaped by rain. Set in rural Sri Lanka, this song moves through a student who cannot go to school, a field cracked under the sun, a mother placing pots under a leaking roof, and the quiet stubbornness of rain itself. This is not a song against rain. It is a song about living with it. Quiet. Observational. Human. Part of the playlist: Quiet Stories | Songs of Life & Resistance Lyrics by H.B.
